a native of cincinnati ohio, adam spent a decade working in the austin music scene, with a brief stop in nashville, before settling in new york.

adam earned his degree in music education with a minor in percussion performance from northern kentucky university, where he studied orchestral percussion with dick jensen (cincinnati symphony) and scott lang (cincinnati chamber orchestra), and drum set with daniel dorff (jim james, ray lamontagne).

with a teaching career going back to 1999, adam has served as a percussion director, assistant band director, private lesson instructor, clinician, and consultant, working with hundreds of students in ohio, kentucky, tennessee, texas, and new york. adam currently teaches guitar classes and rock band at brown school in schenectady NY, as well as private lessons for drums, bass, guitar, and piano at several studios in the capital region.

in 2022. adam joined the board at sofaburn inc, a non-profit which assists working musicians and artists by subsidizing healthcare costs, along with financial education and providing connections to additional resources.
